Last week, the coffee fair was held in Trieste, a smaller yet meaningful event offering a great opportunity for both coffee enthusiasts and industry professionals. Although the fair itself wasn’t large, it provided a fascinating insight into various aspects of coffee culture—from machines and equipment to roasters and the promotion of renowned brands like Oro, Sangiusto, and the traditional Illy.
A World of Flavors – From Africa to the Balkans
As a true coffee lover, I hoped to taste different kinds of coffee in just one day. Each mentioned brand has unique characteristics and appeals to a specific type of coffee lover. Illy, for example, stands out with its traditional, slightly acidic taste, while Oro takes us to flavors rich with African spices. Sangiusto, on the other hand, offers a taste especially loved by people from the Balkans.
Innovation in Roasting and Energy-Efficient Equipment
One of the fair’s most interesting parts was the display of roasters. I suggested a collaboration between Italian Brambeti and Serbian Tehmonatik, who successfully completed four projects together last year. I hope that their next collaboration will yield an innovative pre-roaster that could provide customers with at least 30% energy savings. Such solutions are a great opportunity for any roaster focused on efficiency and savings.
Modern Coffee Machines with Small Boilers
Aside from the roasters, the new coffee machines also drew significant interest. Machines with small boilers and water tanks, equipped with professional-grade coffee-making groups accessible from the front, were particularly popular. These devices are ideal for smaller coffee shops and coffee corners looking to prepare high-quality coffee with limited space available.
The Trieste Coffee Fair was a true paradise for every coffee lover. Not only could you try different flavors and learn about industry novelties, but it also offered excellent networking opportunities and the potential for future collaborations. We hope that next year’s fair will be even richer, offering us even more possibilities.
